About the Film:

Filmed in early 2008, Discovering: Shuktara is the remarkable story of 18 boys and girls in Kolkata, India who were given a new chance at life after being abandoned by their families or escaping abusive homes. While many non-governmental organizations in India often overlook homeless children who are deaf or disabled, Shuktara embraces them.

The film is 33 minutes long.

A free will offering will be collected for Discovering Deaf Worlds, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the self-determination of signing Deaf communities through local capacity building in developing countries. Learn more about Discovering Deaf Worlds by visiting their website.
